How to Minimize the effects of jet lag

Here is some tips to minimize the effects of jet lag:


Before departure

  •      Adjust your sleep. Anticipate your sleep schedule a few days before departure:
    •      If you head east: go to bed earlier the day before the flight,
    •      If you head west: Avoid going to bed too early.
  •      Avoid sleeping pills.

on board

     From the off, set your watch to the destination time. To help you manage the effects of jet lag, Air France adapts mealtimes than the country of destination. Avoid large meals:
     - If you head east, choose carbohydrates (pasta, rice), which promote sleep.
     - If you head west, focus on proteins.
     Drink water throughout the flight. Avoid alcohol, soft drinks, tea and coffee dehydrate
     the organism and prevent sleep.

Upon arrival

     To adapt to the new time, spend time outdoors and avoid sleeping during the day.
     Exercise: walk, swim ... A gentle activity helps relieve stress and physical stress of travel and helps you sleep better.
     Immediately take your meals to hours of arrival.
